Dystopian Literature Bulletin Board & Assign

For my Dystopian Literature unit the students are reading five different dystopian novels - which presented an interesting challenge for the rotating content board.  As always, I like the board to involve student work, so I started with what you see here and as students completed the assignment below, I added their work into the mix - I will add an image of the board with student work ASAP.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" - or so the saying goes.  For this assignment, you will be combining the power of words and imagery in an attempt to capture the mood of your dystopian novel.  You will, later, be using one of these images and a corresponding discussion question to facilitate an on-line discussion for your unit final.

Step One: select 5-6 poignant quotes from your text

Step Two: spend time selecting corresponding images

Step Three: edit your images/text (you pick the program) to fit together and capture one of the key moods from your novel.

Step Four: Cite the images that you are using on a Works Cited page in MLA format

Step Five: email Mrs. Robison your 3 best images with text and your Works Cited page - the best ones will be featured on our Dystopian Literature board.
